The pagoda was built in the year of Tan Dau 1861 (14th Tu Duc dynasty) with Venerable Khanh Phong as the abbot. In 1907, monk Le Khanh Hoa became abbot. He is very prestigious in the Central Buddhist Church, so he is honored by the churches as "Patriarch", "Tien Linh" Pagoda is called "To Dinh". Master Le Khanh Hoa was the initiator of "Reviving Buddhism in the South" and "Luong Xuyen Buddhism" to gather many high-ranking monks and lay Buddhists in the South at that time.
In 1927, Mr. Nguyen Sinh Sac returned to Tien Linh Pagoda to open a class to teach Chinese writing and to dispense medicine, check pulses, and treat diseases for poor people. The deputy leader discussed and discussed with Patriarch Le Khanh Hoa to change the name of Tien Linh Pagoda to Tuyen Linh Pagoda to suit the situation at that time, in order to gather people to propagate patriotism and fight against foreign invaders. From then until now it is called Tuyen Linh pagoda. During his time working here, Mr. Nguyen Sinh Sac often met with Mr. Tran Van An and Huynh Khac Man... who later became the first Communist Party members in Ben Tre. The fact that Mr. Nguyen Sinh Sac returned to Tuyen Linh in conjunction with Patriarch Le Khanh Hoa was intended to cover the eyes and ears of the French secret police in order to create conditions for him to carry out revolutionary activities against invasion and national liberation. Also at Tuyen Linh Pagoda in 1930, Mr. Ngo Van Chuong, a member of the Tan Viet Party, came here to build a foundation, open a class to teach French and Vietnamese, and spread revolutionary, patriotic, and anti-Western ideas. The pagoda is also the base of patriotic movements, a place where patriotic activists often visit.
Tuyen Linh Pagoda is a gathering place for patriotic organizations, especially this is also where Mr. Nguyen Sinh Sac gathered his disciples and the masses to propagate and educate patriotism against foreign invaders. That's why this place is not only a revolutionary base but also a place to train many elite communist party members, from there to serve as the nucleus to develop the force of patriots who follow the Party and fight under the flag. later national independence and democracy.
Tuyen Linh Pagoda was built in the three gina two chai style, with a yin and yang tiled roof. Due to time and war, the pagoda has been repaired many times. In 1983, nun Dieu Ninh  at Thien Duc Pagoda in Saigon (formerly a disciple of monk Le Khanh Hoa) organized a very large-scale repair like today. Tuyen Linh Pagoda with its historical values was recognized as a national relic on July 20, 1994 according to Decision No. 921-QĐ/BT.
