The Chau Thoi Communal House, originally located in Thoi Hoa Hamlet, formerly part of Chau Thoi Commune but now part of Chau Hoa Commune, Giong Trom District, Ben Tre Province, has undergone four reconstructions. According to the divine spirit during the reign of King Tu Duc, in the year of Ngu Nien, Nham Ty (1852), and according to the account of Mr. Nguyen Van Ba (Tu Ba), a veteran revolutionary official residing in Thoi Hoa Hamlet, the communal house was first constructed before 1852, made of wooden columns, low height, and tiled roof. Over time, the communal house deteriorated, so the members of the council unanimously agreed and mobilized to rebuild it in 1915. The communal house was built on the land donated by Mr. Do Huu Dat, with a foundation made of about 1m high blue stones, large wooden columns, and a roof consisting of three sections, with three auxiliary roofs attached together, all made of precious wood. Inside is the main hall for worship. The communal house was built on the land donated by Mr. Do Huu Dat, with a foundation made of about 1m high blue stones, large wooden columns, and a roof consisting of three sections, with three auxiliary roofs attached together, all made of precious wood. Inside is the main hall for worship.

During two fierce wars, enemy aircraft bombed and destroyed the entire communal house, leaving only the divine spirit, some surviving trees, and three tablets for worship. The council members searched for a place to keep the divine spirit, storing it in various places until it was finally relocated to Hue Linh Pagoda until the reconstruction. After the complete liberation of the South in 1975, the remaining council members, such as Mr. Do Van Ba, Nguyen Van Cung, Tran Van Cong, expressed their desire to rebuild the communal house and submitted a proposal to the district and commune authorities on August 8, 1997. By December 12, 2000, according to the lunar calendar, the communal house was reconstructed for the third time, with sturdy concrete columns and tiled roofs on a brick-paved foundation. In 2016, with strong support from Mrs. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and charitable donors, the communal house was renovated to its present state.
