The Chau Phu Communal House is located in Phu Hoa Hamlet, Chau Hoa Commune. During the Nguyen Dynasty, in the year of Quy Mui (1823), King Tu Duc conferred the title of false general to the meritorious mandarin Le Thanh Kham. Later, his divine spirit was brought back to the village in the Year of Canh Tuat (1850) to establish a shrine in his honor, named Chau Phu Communal House. The communal house was constructed in the traditional village style of that era, with wooden pillars and beams, and a yin and yang tile roof. During the intense wartime period, the communal house was completely destroyed. In 1972, elderly villagers such as Nguyen Van Ngoc, Truong Van Kieu, Nguyen Van Day, Dang Van Hon, along with the local people, rebuilt the communal house using coconut trees and palm leaves. Over time, the communal house deteriorated, and in 1995, the village council mobilized to rebuild it with concrete pillars and tiled roofs. Finally, at the end of 2015 and the beginning of 2016, with the support of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and the Cường Thịnh Thi Group, the communal house was renovated to its present splendor. View more
