The temple dedicated to General Nguyen Thi Dinh, also affectionately known as Cô Ba Định, is the first female general of the People's Army of Vietnam. Born in 1920 in Luong Hoa commune, Giồng Trôm district, Bến Tre province, she hailed from a revolutionary tradition-rich peasant family. She fervently joined the revolutionary movement at the age of 16. At just 18, she was admitted to the Communist Party and quickly became a leader in the Dong Khoi movement in Mỏ Cày Bến Tre, later expanding to the entire Mekong Delta region and the Southeastern region, forming the renowned "long-haired army." On August 30, 1995, she was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the President of Vietnam. In commemoration of her outstanding leadership for the Party and State, as well as her role as a female general of the Vietnamese nation, the people of Bến Tre erected a temple in her honor in Phong Dien hamlet, Luong Hoa commune, Giồng Trôm, Bến Tre. At just 18, she was admitted to the Communist Party and quickly became a leader in the Dong Khoi movement in Mỏ Cày Bến Tre, later expanding to the entire Mekong Delta region and the Southeastern region, forming the renowned "long-haired army."

On August 30, 1995, she was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the President of Vietnam. In commemoration of her outstanding leadership for the Party and State, as well as her role as a female general of the Vietnamese nation, the people of Bến Tre erected a temple in her honor in Phong Dien hamlet, Luong Hoa commune, Giồng Trôm, Bến Tre.

The temple was built on an elevated, airy plot of land, featuring a quadrangular structure with round columns and a double-tiered curved roof extending upwards at the four corners, adorned with various motifs. It has three entrances, all surrounded by spacious corridors. Inside, there are modest yet solemn furnishings. Of particular note is the bronze statue of Cô Ba Định in traditional attire, standing 1.75 meters tall and weighing over a ton, placed solemnly on a 1.5-meter high granite altar presented by the Ministry of National Defense. Adjacent to it is a horizontal inscribed board bearing President Ho Chi Minh's praise for the female general. In the adjoining room, artifacts, images, and documents related to her life and revolutionary career are on display. Particularly remarkable is the windbreaker that the female general used during her tenure in Zone 2, Đồng Tháp province from 1962 to 1963, which is still preserved. Every year on the 28th of July in the lunar calendar, the People's Committee of Luong Hoa commune, along with the Provincial Heritage Management Board, organizes a memorial ceremony to commemorate the anniversary of the death of General Nguyen Thi Dinh. Through this event, her life and revolutionary career are honored, paying tribute to her immense contributions to the national liberation and construction and renovation of the country. The temple dedicated to General Nguyen Thi Dinh was recognized as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic by the Provincial People's Committee in 2014.
