This is one in the series of activities for tourism restoration after a long time of "freezing" because of the Covid-19 pandemic with the theme "Green Land of Coconut Tourism - A destination of safety, friendliness and quality ".

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Le Duc Tho - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Tran Ngoc Tam - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Muoi - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mr. Vo Thanh Hao - Former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Economic Strategy Advisory Council of Ben Tre Province, together with leaders of departments in the province, districts/cities and over 100 guests are the Department of Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City and businesses tourism industry inside and outside the province.

Ben Tre tourism has been seriously affected during the past time because of the Covid-19 pandemic and its recovery ability is lower than other economic sectors. According to Mr. Tran Ngoc Tam - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ben Tre province, the province is implementing a plan to recover, develop the economy and prevent and control the pandemic in the last months of 2021 and early 2022. In which, focus on implementation of solutions for economic recovery and development in each period in accordance with the pandemic control situation on the principle of gradually opening the economy, ensuring effective pandemic prevention and control. At the same time, he asked tourism businesses and establishments to well implement the set of tourism safety criteria to prevent and control the Covid-19 pandemic, develop tourism products under the Green Land of Coconut Tourism brand, strengthen linkages and cooperation in the development of intra-provincial, intra-regional and inter-regional tours and routes, and so on.

Right after the launching ceremony, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Mr. Le Duc Tho and leaders of the province and Ben Tre tourism industry welcomed the first group of tourists at Ben Tre Riverside Resort.

Prior to that, on November 13, 2021, the survey team of the Saigon Tourism Corporation (Saigontourist) had a visit to survey sites in Ben Tre city, Ba Tri district and Giong Trom district. As soon as Ben Tre announced that it was open to welcome guests, Saigontourist organized a tour to visit Ben Tre, staff and visitors were fully vaccinated and performed quick tests, health declaration as well as safety measures against pandemic at the present time.

The group visited Nguyen Thi Dinh Memorial Area, Special National Monument and Nguyen Dinh Chieu Memorial Area, experienced ecology at Hai Van Farm - Vam Ho Bird Sanctuary, took a boat to watch the sunset on the river, visit and experience services at Riverside Garden eco-tourism site.

Visitors proved to be very satisfied and extremely secure because of the thoughtfulness and safety of the tourism sites in pandemic prevention at the current stage./.
