Promote communication, promotion and investment activities in tourism

BDK - Qua 9 tháng năm 2023, ngành du lịch (DL) tỉnh ghi nhận những kết quả tăng trưởng đầy khả quan, với tổng lượt du khách trên 1,7 triệu, tăng 79,4% so với cùng kỳ, vượt 18,2% so với kế hoạch. Trong đó, khách quốc tế đạt trên 292 ngàn lượt, tăng 458,8% so với cùng kỳ. Tổng thu từ khách DL đạt trên 2.148 tỷ đồng, tăng 84,7% so với cùng kỳ, vượt 30,4% kế hoạch. Kết quả này có phần quan trọng từ công tác truyền thông xúc tiến DL.

Tourism promotion activities

In 2023, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism aims to improve the quality, efficiency and professionalism in communication and tourism promotion activities, creating a spread and staying focused. Thereby, contributing to promoting the brand and image of Ben Tre Tourism in the domestic and international markets.

The Provincial Tourism Promotion Information Center has coordinated and participated in domestic and foreign tourism promotion events and fairs organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vietnam Tourism Association, and Mekong Delta Tourism Association, as well as events related to linked provinces in the Eastern Mekong Delta cluster, other provinces and cities organized such as the Northwest, Central provinces, Lao Cai, Da Nang, Binh Thuan. Notably, the unit participated in displaying images of Ben Tre land and people along with tourism products and services to tourists at the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival 2023, Vietnam International Tourism Fair - VITM Hanoi 2023, 1st Bread Festival 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City, International Tourism Fair in Ho Chi Minh city - ITE HCMC 2023... All activities have the participation of representatives of tourism enterprises in the province. Thereby, it has supported businesses to connect and introduce tourism products effectively.

In 2023, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has organized famtrips, presstrips, and travel groups inside and outside the province to survey tourism products and services to connect tours and inter-provincial and inter-regional tourism routes. Typically, a practical experience trip to create beautiful photos of Ben Tre Smile and works of art about Ben Tre land and people with the participation of the press inside and outside the province, a fam trip of travel businesses and international tourists to Provincial People's Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair.

In addition, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism continues to coordinate with units and localities to implement and invite investment in tourism development projects in the province. Accumulated up to now, the whole province has 30 projects with a total investment of over 3 trillion VND. Of these, 2 projects have been completed, 5 projects have completed both business and investment, 5 projects are under investment and have not been completed, 3 projects have had policies but have not yet been implemented, 14 projects are applying for investment survey policies.

Communication promoting tourism

Communication about tourism on mass media, visual propaganda and the internet is also paid more attention than before. Maintain and open specialized pages and categories about tourism, increase articles, reports, and in-depth clips promoting the image of the homeland, people, destinations, culture, and events associated with holidays and other related events. The Ben Tre Tourism website is regularly updated with news, articles, and photos about tourism activities and introduction of tourism products in the province.

Publications promoting provincial tourism are newly edited and printed, with updates and communication connections with tourism clusters in the Eastern Mekong Delta provinces. In particular, the Ben Tre Tourism smart tourism application was upgraded and widely introduced for people and tourists to use, bringing positive effects to promote local tourism products. According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the level of access to existing tourism promotion channels as of September 12, 2023 achieved results such as: Ben Tre Tourism Information Portal (bentretourism.vn) over 912.8 thousand installs and accesses to the smart DL application over 161 thousand times for both Android and iOS systems.

The operation of the smart tourism application contributes to creating connection and general management from the provincial level to the district, commune and tourist sites, unifying the method of managing and updating information, making it easy and convenient in retrieving data to industry databases. The district-level Department of Culture and Information is also granted the right to manage the tourism website as well as smart tourism applications, so it proactively and regularly updates news and articles. Thereby, meeting the needs of tourists searching for information about tourism. At the same time, support tourism service communication for tourism service businesses in the province, which has been responded to by tourism service businesses.

From the achieved results, the province's tourism industry continues to effectively deploy communication, promotion, advertising and invitation for tourism investment. Focus on introducing the cultural beauty, traditions and tourism products of Coconut Land to tourist groups when visiting the province to achieve the goal of continuing to welcome about 495 thousand tourists and generating an estimated revenue from tourism of about 615 billion VND in the remaining 3 months of 2023.
