To improve the quality of tour guides in the province, in 2023, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has focused on implementing many professional training activities. Typically, a professional knowledge training class for tour guides at tourist areas, sites, and historical-cultural relics in the province was recently held in August 2023, with nearly 30 students attending. Training content includes: Overview of the province's tourism development situation, knowledge of tourism areas, tourism destinations, communication skills of tour guides at the destination, skills to solve tourism situations, psychological characteristics of tourists, tour guide process, on-site tourist guiding skills, on-site tour guide professional practice.

Sharing the results of learning from the class, Ms. Le Thi Kim Tuyen, on-site tour guide of Ben Tre Museum said: "Completing the on-site tour guide class, I have improved a lot of knowledge and skills on how to build explanations and presentation methods attract listeners, conveying cultural, historical, geographical and tourist values of the province to tourists. Practical teaching methods combined with theory have helped students absorb knowledge better and love the work they are doing more. This is a piece of equipment that helps tour guides at our destination with confidence and bravery to welcome tourists from all over the province."

Homestay Maison du Pays de Ben Tre (Giong Trom district) this time boldly registered 2 study slots for the site's staff. Mr. Quach Duy Thinh - Owner of homestay Maison du Pays de Ben Tre said: Completing the training course on tour guide knowledge at the site for 2 homestay staff helps the staff at the site feel very excited, helping to update new knowledge and serve more professionally, bringing joy and comfort to tourists. The 2 staff at the site are also local people. Through training knowledge, they know how to introduce their destination as well as the beauty of their homeland to tourists from near and far.

Also with the aim of improving the quality of the tour guide team, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a tour guide contest. This is also a playground, creating conditions for the province's tour guide team to have the opportunity to interact, exchange experiences and further develop their professional skills.

Talking about the role of a tour guide for tourism, Mr. Pham Tan Vu - tour guide of Ben Tre Museum shared: "First of all, we need to stand from the perspective of being a Ben Tre person who understands Ben Tre culture. From there, I introduce the province's characteristics to tourists. To do their role well, tour guides must have knowledge, confidence in themselves as well as communication skills so that when meeting guests, they can introduce and convey the right information and attract and impress tourists.

Evaluating the province's tour guide team as well as the upcoming orientation, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dung said: From the results of the tour guide contest as well as through actual assessment, we recognize the strengths and limitations in the explanatory content, professional skills as well as the ability to handle situations of current tour guides. On that basis, in the coming time, we will continue to organize more training classes to foster professional knowledge, skills, and practical experience for tour guides.

“The tour guide team needs to regularly cultivate and update knowledge, grasp information about the province's socio-economic development situation and regularly connect and support each other to help strengthen, to have a team of tour guides with knowledge, skills, each tour guide is an ambassador to introduce, communicate and promote the province's destinations, improving the province's human resources to be more professional", Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dung emphasized.
