Visitors can electronically access information at the Special National Heritage Site Mộ and the Memorial Area of Nguyễn Đình Chiểu. Initial Steps

According to tourism industry data, approximately 90% of businesses in the entire province are incorporating Industry 4.0 technology into their promotional strategies, image communication, products, services, and local branding efforts. These tourism entities actively invest in building and designing meticulously curated social media channels such as Facebook, Zalo, Instagram, and TikTok to independently create content for promoting their destinations. Furthermore, digital services such as online booking for accommodations and tours have met the needs of modern tourists in this new phase. At tourism sites, accommodation facilities have been promoting cashless payment methods, catering to the preferences and convenience of contemporary travelers.

In terms of digital infrastructure within the tourism sector, hotels, restaurants, and entertainment venues all provide free Wi-Fi. Particularly, cultural and historical sites are being transformed with information encoding and virtual reality (VR) 360 experiences to enhance visitor experiences. Examples include the Special National Heritage Site Mộ and the Memorial Area of Nguyễn Đình Chiểu, Đồng Khởi Bến Tre historical site, the National Base of the Party Committee of Sài Gòn - Gia Định, and the Memorial Area of Nguyễn Thị Định. The provincial tourism sector continues to enhance its QR code-based interpretation system at cultural and historical sites to efficiently convey basic, convenient, and prompt information to visitors.
Conversion solutions

Recently, the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism advised the Provincial People's Committee to develop a Digital Transformation Plan for the fields of culture, sports, tourism, and family affairs in the province for the period 2021-2025, with a vision extending to 2030. The digital transformation initiatives in the tourism sector include:

Implementing public services for administrative procedures within the tourism sector through the National Public Service Portal;
Enhancing interconnected information exchange among state tourism management agencies from central to local levels, as well as tourism businesses across the province.
The tourism industry emphasizes developing solutions for all tourists from their arrival to departure from the province. It aims to build a synchronized smart tourism ecosystem, utilizing artificial intelligence, virtual assistants, and other advanced technologies to serve tourists, communities, businesses, and government tourism management agencies.

Supporting businesses in reaching customers through online tourism platforms, employing virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies, and creating 360-degree videos to enhance visitor experiences. This includes developing and implementing image-based solutions for significant historical and cultural sites in the province to cater to tourists.

Additionally, establishing a QR code system at key heritage sites, upgrading the cultural heritage data repository of intangible cultural heritage, and enhancing the website dedicated to cultural figures such as Nguyen Dinh Chieu are also key initiatives.

The plan includes digitizing historical sites, aiming to digitize 2 sites annually and assess the effectiveness of these applications to fully develop 100% of tourism destinations across the province by 2030. It involves installing smart screens at national-level heritage sites, tourism information stations, and high-traffic tourist spots in Ben Tre City and towns within districts with developed tourism.

Development efforts also include creating automated presentation tools within the Ben Tre Smart Tourism application, standardizing digital content to showcase the province's typical tourism destinations, products, and services. It supports connecting tourism businesses with reputable domestic and international platforms and enhances online customer engagement through digital channels. There's a push to expand online payment services across all tourism service points.

According to the plan, in 2023, the tourism sector will focus on digital transformation activities, including maintaining operations of the "Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group Smart Tourism mobile app and digital map." Solutions for all tourists from their arrival to departure from the province are being developed. Specific digital transformation efforts will target areas such as the Ho Chi Minh Sea Trail historical site in Thanh Phu District, the Cai Ga sandbank in Long Thoi Commune, Cho Lach District.
