On February 15, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism sent a report to the Prime Minister proposing permission to announce the reopening of all tourism activities from March 15, 2022, and at the same time apply Visa policies for visitors entering Vietnam as implemented before 2020.

Accordingly, at the meeting to report to Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam on February 15, ministries reported, discussed and agreed on a proposal to reopen international and domestic tourism activities from March 15, 2022. under new normal conditions through air, road, and sea to ensure safety, under regulations on COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control. From now until March 14, the pilot program phase 2 will continue to welcome international tourists to Vietnam.
To effectively implement opening activities to welcome tourists in the new normal conditions, and quickly restore and develop tourism in the coming time, ministries all agree on the need to apply visa policies for tourists. schedule as before the epidemic, including the issuance of electronic visas, unilateral visa exemption for 13 countries and bilateral visa exemption for 88 countries and territories.
Regarding requirements for tourists entering the country:
(1) For tourists aged 12 years and older, there must be a certificate of full dose of COVID-19 vaccine recognized by a competent authority in Vietnam, with the last dose administered at least 14 days ago and no more than 06 months from the time of departure; or have a certificate of recovery from COVID-19 or equivalent documents certifying recovery from COVID-19 issued by a competent authority in the treatment country within a period not exceeding 06 months.
(2) Have a negative test result for SARS-CoV-2 (by RT-PCR/RT-LAMP method) within 72 hours or a negative rapid test result within 24 hours before departure (except cases of children under 2 years old) for passengers entering by air and having negative rapid test results for passengers entering through international border gates by land and sea. For countries and territories with higher requirements, regulations of the place of departure shall apply.
(3) Have a negative rapid test result for SARS-CoV-2 at the place of stay within 24 hours after entry.

(4) Have health insurance or travel insurance that covers COVID-19 treatment with a minimum liability of 10,000 USD.
(5) Ensure conditions for exit and entry according to the provisions of Vietnamese law on immigration.
(6) Install at least 01 COVID-19 safety management application according to the regulations of specialized agencies and maintain connections while in Vietnam.
Regarding the process of ensuring safety and epidemic prevention after entry:
(1) Guests with symptoms or suspected of being infected will be tested immediately at the international border gate.
(2) Tourists must go straight to the registered accommodation and must not come into contact with the community for 24 hours.
(3) For guests entering the country by air, rapid testing is required at the accommodation, within 24 hours of entry. In case of negative results, guests can continue to participate in travel programs. In case of a positive result, guests will be medically isolated at the accommodation or treated according to the regulations of the Ministry of Health.
(4) Tourists self-monitor their health within 14 days after entry, ensuring compliance with the "5K Message" and infection prevention and control measures and compliance with regulations and instructions of the Government. tourism service provider.
(5) Businesses providing tourism services to welcome guests must implement plans to ensure safety in preventing and combating the COVID-19 epidemic take measures to support tourists and arrange quarantine rooms for infected guests. at the accommodation facility according to regulations.
