Tan Thach Communal House is a unique artistic architectural work in the temple and pagoda architectural relic complex of Ben Tre province. The communal house is located in Tan Thach commune, Chau Thanh district, Ben Tre province and was recognized by the Ministry of Culture and Information as a national Architectural and Artistic relic on December 28, 2001. In 1841, Tan Thach communal house ( At that time, it was called Thach Ho communal house) and construction began with a Tam (三) shaped structure including three main rooms: Vo Ca, Vo Quy and the main hall built next to each other. The communal house's roof is covered with yin and yang tiles, the roof system is decorated with two dragon paintings, dragon fish, eight immortals. The special and rare thing about Tan Thach Communal House is received six conferments from the Nguyen king fro many years (Thieu Tri in the fifth year and Tu Duc in the third year) and the conferments are still carefully preserved to this day. The architecture and interior of Tan Thach Communal House is a beautiful, elaborate work of art from the talented hands of Central region artisans. These are meticulous, skillful and sharp works of art down to every engraved line. Over 180 years, the hand-carved lines are still timeless. The column system of the communal house is made of ironwood, the floor is lined with Chinese bricks, the trusses and arm beams are bonded together by the tenon-pin technique. The entire incense burner, altar page, horizontal plate, tureen... can be seen as a stage for artisans to compete and show off their skills.Various types of decorative projects of four precious animals, four sacred animals, flowers and birds... appear incredibly and vividly under the sophisticated engraving and engraving techniques of Central region artisans. The bat-wing truss set is also elaborately carved with strange-looking patterns. Tan Thach Communal House's ensemble of parallel diaphragms uses sophisticated techniques of embossed patterns and luxurious gold emulsion Chinese characters. Currently, Tan Thach communal house still preserves many precious ancient artifacts of time and aesthetic value such as brass bamboo-eyed bronze urns, candlesticks, marbles, ceramic jars, horizontal plates, and dragon pillars...
