Currently, ecotourism is emerging as a new and attractive trend for both domestic and international tourists. Beyond offering diverse tourism products, ecotourism presents an opportunity for local residents and visitors to participate in the conservation of natural resources, maintaining ecological balance, protecting the environment, and promoting sustainable development. Aligned with this trend, Bến Tre Province leverages its inherent strengths in natural beauty—pristine landscapes, lush greenery, and numerous cultural-historical sites scattered across the province, totaling over 70. These assets provide a solid foundation for developing ecotourism.

The Vietnam Tourism Development Research Institute has introduced the concept of "Green Tourism," which is understood as tourism based on the rational and effective exploitation of resources, development associated with environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and adaptation to climate change. Green tourism will bring significant benefits to localities.

Several tourism businesses in the province are focusing on developing green tourism, targeting not only adults but also students. In recent years, Ben Tre Riverside Garden (in Mo Cay Bac district) has been offering tourism services such as: experiencing coconut leaf weaving, traditional folk games under coconut trees, learning about nature and the environment, making traditional cakes, and more. These activities have been well-received and enjoyed by many tourists, allowing families and children to explore nature, escape the city's pollution, and take a break from modern technology.
